What’s Nearby
The city of Frisco began as a watering hole along the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, established in 1902. Wanting to live closer to the train stop, the residents of nearby Lebanon moved their homes four miles west to the area where Frisco sits today. Although originally named Emerson, the new community became the city of Frisco in 1904.
Today, Frisco straddles both Collin and Denton Counties and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It has a population of 140,220 and covers 62.4 square miles. Frisco has experienced rapid growth in the past decade and a half, serving as a bedroom community for many residents who work in the nearby cities.
